They are here to answer your questions and show you around between 10 and noon. As in most libraries, food and drink are Not Allowed.

Our Collection in the library is organized according to categories clearly marked by shelf signs: Fiction, History, Non-Fiction, Biographies, Mysteries and several specialized categories including Health, Art, Nature, Poetry and more. Reference Books: Dictionaries and other reference books, including medical reference books, are shelved near the large windows. They are to be used only in the library. California Driver’s Handbooks, sample DMV tests, and related materials are available to be checked out and are shelved on the side of the desk.
Residents Section: Photos and bios of current residents are in the black binders on the table. The nearby corner shelves contain older bios and works such as art, life stories, and books by residents. The lower shelves contain histories of the Villa from its founding.
Villa Marin Documents: Board and committee minutes, contracts, operation manuals, budgets, and newsletters from Villa Marin’s founding are shelved near the large windows.
Newspapers and Magazines: Several daily newspapers are kept for two days and are for reading in the library only. Donated magazines are in the wall rack for reading in the library only.
New Books: Recently purchased books – mostly popular best-sellers. Click HERE to see the latest purchases.
Donations Welcome: We appreciate receiving books, but we can only process a few at a time so no boxfuls please. Leave donations on the bottom shelf on the west side of the desk. We pass any we can’t use on to charitable organizations.
Discard/Free Shelf: As we cull books to make room for new ones, we offer them to residents via the FREE discard shelf behind the desk. Remainders are donated.
HELP: Ask the volunteer librarians for help with any of the above, or any other questions you may have. The library desk’s internal telephone number is 2665.
