Dining Services

OVERVIEW
Your monthly fee includes one meal entré per day, which may be chosen at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Additional meals and entrés may be taken with an additional charge. Brunch is served Sundays and Holidays and is the only meal on those days. Menus are constantly updated to reflect seasonal availability, holidays, special events and the recommendations of your Dining Service Committee.
DINING ROOM HOURS
Breakfast is served in the Dining Room between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m.
Lunch is served from 12:00 to 1:00 pm in the dining room, or available for take-out.
Dinner is served in the dining room from 4:15 to 7:00 pm, available from the Villa Express line for dine-in or take-out.
Sunday Brunch is available from the Villa Express line from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm for dine-in or take-out.
Residents may come into the dining room for meals at any time during these scheduled meal hours. The last seating is 10 minutes before the closing hour.
DRESS CODE
As a courtesy to your fellow diners, appropriate attire is expected in the Dining Room. Dress as you would when dining at an upscale restaurant. The following are examples of inappropriate attire at dinner: blue jeans, shorts, collarless t-shirts, sweat suits, flip-flops and caps. Please provide Villa Marin’s dress suggestions to your outside guests.
DINING ROOM SERVICE
At all meals the dining room offers waited service, take-out, pick-up and, at dinner, Villa Marin express (similar to traditional buffet). On Sundays a more elaborate brunch is served. It is the only Sunday meal and if ordered in advance it will be delivered to your condo at no charge.
CHECK-IN
Upon entering the dining room, residents check in at the podium to be seated. Charges for an outside guest, condo number, or an extra meal are noted at that time by the staff.
RESERVATIONS
Tables in the dining room are set for 2, 4, 5, and 6. If you need a table of more than 6, please reserve it prior to meal service.
Reservations are not required for any meal though dinner reservations may be made by emailing diningroomreservations@villa-marin.com or calling ext.2339. When making a reservation please provide the day, time, and the condo numbers of residents who will be in your party.

CATERING SERVICES
Contact the dining room director (ext.2645) for availability, cost estimates, and planning.
Events held in the common areas must be approved by the activities coordinator who schedules the rooms ext. 2613. The private dining room adjacent to the kitchen is suitable for small groups of 12 or fewer.
TRAY DELIVERY SERVICE
For an additional charge of $6.50, meals can be delivered to your condo. The delivery charge may be waived if you have medical clearance. Please have your doctor write a note for this.
To order a tray, call ext. 2500 before 2:00 p.m. and leave your name and phone number. We will return your call and note your menu selections. On Sundays, tray service is available for brunch; please call by 9:00 am. Trays will be picked up from your condo. Please do not leave trays in the hallway.
The kitchen staff will pick up dinner trays between 6:45 and 7:15 p.m. and from 3:00 to 3:30 pm on Sundays. Call ext.2500 if you need a tray picked up outside of the regular pickup hours.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Residents may bring their own choice into the dining room where wine glasses are available. A selection of wines for purchase is available upon request. There is no corkage fee.
SUGGESTIONS AND COMMENTS
Comment cards are located on every table. Electronic comments can be entered the pad by the main door. Dining Services welcomes feedback. A box to collect completed comment cards is located at the Dining Room entrance. If you would like a response, enter your name and phone number on the card.
WALKING ASSISTANCE
Residents requiring the use of a wheelchair, walker, crutches or cane, may ask for staff assistance to put their device in the room across from the dining room. Motorized scooters or wheelchairs may not be parked in the hallway or the entrance to the dining room.
BOX LUNCHES
Box lunch order forms are available at the podium in the Dining Room, in the Mail Room, or for download HERE. Fill out and leave at the Dining Room podium before 2:00 pm to order for the next day. Pick up time is after 9:00 a.m. unless special arrangements are made. Pick up your box lunch at the Dining Room entrance. A fee of $14.00 will be charged unless it is your only meal of the day.
FOOD TO GO
Take-out containers are available if you wish to take the unfinished portion of your meal with you. The re-usable containers must be returned to the dining room. Other than take-out meals as described above, it is Villa Marin’s policy that food served in the dining room be consumed in the dining room. Please do not remove dishes or eating utensils from the dining room.
NUTRITION CONSULTATION
Food is prepared on-site from tested recipes. Some baked goods are purchased from local bakeries. Our Dining Services Committee approves menu selections and suggest changes and improvements. All recipes and menus are reviewed by registered dietitians to ensure healthful dining.
